Arthur the Shoe Collector

I was supposed to spend the evening reinstalling my operating system b/c my PC has contracted some very annoying spyware.  However, b/c I feel the stong need to prove my point, I will postpone working on my PC.

I'm very upset b/c an individual is trying to make me feel guilty about selling shoes that I paid money for, thinks I make a (big) profit on them, and doesn't believe I'm a shoe collector.  He did me a "favour" for one thing and figures he could overstep his bounds and control what he deems is related to the favour.  It is not.  I said a picture is a 1000 words b/c that's what art is and so is backing up my talk.  I will show this individual and not just tell.

The picture on the left shows a door hanger shoe rack.  I would NOT invest in a shoe rack like that if I wasn't a shoe collector.  It is hung upright so I can admire them.  The picture in the middle shows shoes mixed in with household items on an upright shelf.  Would a non-shoe fanatic put shoes in a place like that?  The last picture in this set shows bean crates housing at least 30 pairs of shoes which I do not intend to let go of.

In this set, the top picture shows more bean crates housing shoes sitting on top of my couch.  There are at least 30 pairs of shoes in there, plus some more scrambled shoes on top of the table straight ahead.  A non-shoe collector would NOT surround him/herself with shoes like that.  On the other side of that very same table are more shoes housed in some tomato flats and apple boxes.  God knows how many shoes are in that heap.

The last picture set shows that I bought shoes from Value Village in the evening, at a time when all other second-hand shoe stores were closed.  It's also a place I don't shop at b/c of their ridiculously high prices but I had no choice.  I had to do it to prove that I do have shoes that I actually pay and pay a fairly high price for.  I also think some people forget to factor in the time and travel expenses involved.  I don't recommend making a living off of this.  I collect and sell my shoes for fun and to recoup some of my travel expenses.  I end up donating the shoes I can't get rid of, which equals added cost (cost of goods not sold).

I know to the viewers who this article doesn't pertain to won't understand and will wonder why I'm being so sensative about what appears to be such a small deal.  I won't disclose the details here.  Though I'm very upset with this individual, I still have it in me to respect this person's private matters.  I think I've done more than enough to get my point across to this individual and at the same time, share more of my hobby with my shoe fans out there.  I hope in the end, it's a win-win-win situation for everyone involved.

    1. Thanks Chris for believing in me. This shoe blog needs more people like you and less people who are jealous and those who are too quick to judge.

  2. Perhaps one day I can find the proper facility to organize my shoe collection. I too would like to see more of my cool kicks I've compiled over the years. Right now, pride of possession is the only thing I can settle on for now. :-)
