Velcro Nikes

A couple of people who I have been in contact with suggested that I post something retro like velcro shoes so here's is what I found.

And not to mention, she was happy when I complimented her on these shoes she was wearing, despite the fact her shoes weren't new.  As I said before, what I guy sees is totally different than what a woman sees.  They sure are fussier by nature than men in general.

I have another interesting story to tell about approaching strangers for shoe pics.  I approached woman wearing some purple, lime green, and grey Saucony's while wearing my ultra cool Mizuno Wave Prophecy 3's.  I figured that would be enough to show her that I'm a legit shoe fanatic and wanted nothing more than pictures of her shoes.  To my surprise, she still become skeptical b/c the grey meshing was slightly darkened by dirt exposure and thought I had a foot fetish.  I replied:  "If I had a foot fetish, I'd be taking pics of people wearing sandals or open-toe heels.  (Furthermore), if your shoes were black then I can (understand your worries).  I'm after the colours."

I've learnt something from that day when another when another female was uncomfortable about my request just b/c there were some slight streaks of dirt on the white foam of her Nikes.  What appears to be in good condition to guys (me included), could be absolutely filthy to a female.  Anyhow, here's the feeling that I got from the two females.  The Saucony lady would've let me if I had this blogsite to show her then.  The Nike girl just didn't want anything to do with the photo shooting of her shoes.

Nonetheless, here are the shoes I wore when I approached the Saucony lady and you will see why I was surprised by her skepticism.

I got creative with the last two photos.  I experimenting with colour.

If a stranger approached me with these and requested the same thing, I would just take it as sharing of a common hobby. 

Btw, if you are a heavier runner, these will save your back and knees.  I don't feel like running in anything else now.

Designing the UA "Purple Janes"

I'm sure you've seen some gals wear some Mary Janes before.  I've decided to incorporate that style into a pair of Under Armour runners - purple too!!

Customizing the Women's Reebok Crossfit Nano 5.0

Here is yet another shoe customization by me.  I think I must be going crazy or something.  I'm getting hooked on stylizing the women's shoes.

An Actual Shoe Design by Me

I call these the "Reebok Spring Garden".  I hate the Reebok logo so I decided to blend it in to the design of the shoe.

I chose the colours of these shoes as well as components and the placement of those components.  The only thing that is not done by me is the actual drawing of these layer components.  Therefore, I wouldn't consider this creation a customization.

Customizing the NB 998

The first colour scheme I played it safe but it stilled looked cool to me.  The second colour scheme, I took some risks, esp. since yellow is one of the least popular colours in Canada and the US.  It turned out the yellow livened up the subdued colours.  It's hard to get vivid colours off of suede material after all.

First Stranger I Approached

As a shy and private person, it took me a LOT of guts to ask for an unheard favour.  In April 2014, I finally overcame my fears and just asked a wandering clerk who was having a smoke outside her workplace.  These leather Nike Shox were too good to pass up.  If I were a little more experienced, I would've been a little more creative with the shoe pics.

 

I used a CAT B15 phone camera to take these.  It takes really good pic when there is ample light.  Luckily for me the weather was nice and sunny.  The 2 pics below best illustrates the low end camera's capabilities.

You can go to New Balance Canada's website to customize your shoe colour to buy for yourself.  As a guy, I went girl style just to challenge myself.  I customized the 990 v3's.  How did I do?
