For those of you who still think any old shoe will work for any activity, think again. You will severely roll your ankle into a sprain.
Running shoes are designed best for back-and-forth movement whereas a court shoe is designed specifically for (forceful) lateral movement.
One more thing to note, the tread on the outsole of the court shoe is designed differently than that of a running shoe.
